Entry Level Mechanical Engineering

Hughes Network Systems, an exciting opportunity for an Entry Level Mechanical Engineer. This position will be located at our headquarters in Germantown, MD.

Responsibilities:

• Create mechanical solutions to electronic packaging challenges at the chip level, board level, and enclosure level.
• Participate in full product life cycle from Concept Design, Analysis, Development, Prototyping, Testing, to Production Release

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced understanding of Thermal and Structural analysis relating to Electronics Components
• CAD Modeling experience in CREO or Solidworks, part and assembly models + drawings
• Broad material knowledge for high volume & low volume design techniques (including plastics, die castings, extrusions, sheet metal, & elastomers)
• Familiar with environmental & regulatory test standards and compliance techniques preferred, esp. temperature, shock, vibration, DFMA, DFMEA
• Well spoken, self-starter, with high energy level & motivation to succeed and provide innovative design solutions

Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
