Commissioning Internship - Summer 2024

We are a full service engineering design firm with focus on large facility design including education, federal, municipal, and healthcare facilities. Our firm is seeking Commissioning Interns who have a passion in sustainability and Commissioning for our Brentwood, Tennessee location.

Responsibilities:

• Learn to review mechanical, electrical, and plumbing designs with a focus on basic engineering principles, energy consumption, commissioning, and sustainability
• Mostly local travel with some national travel to job sites to document construction progress with field visit reports and conduct functional performance testing
• Learn design requirements, codes, and standards for additions, renovations, and new buildings 
• Learn to create commissioning documents like the Cx Plan which include Pre-Functional Checklists (PFC’s – Installation checklists based on construction documents), Functional Performance Tests (FPT’s – Equipment/system operational verification checklists based on the construction documents Sequence of Operations), Field Visit Reports, and etc.

Qualifications:

• Working towards a Accredited Bachelor level engineering degree (BSME)
• Computer hardware/software/network expertise, as appropriate (Microsoft Office – Specifically Word, Excel, and Power Point)
• Demonstrate technical aptitude and the ability to receive and absorb technical training with a high level of retention
• Must be able to communicate proficiently and effectively both verbally and written
