Systems Engineer for Nuclear Enterprise Systems

including the Department of Defense’s aim to protect our Nation on the ground, in

SDL is seeking an experienced and organized systems engineer to help envision and architect the nation’s new nuclear enterprise system.  A Systems Architect is responsible

for the architecture, technical trades, risk tracking, requirements

tracking, and the technical progress and execution of the program. They must

have the ability to understand the customer’s vision and work with the team

to translate that vision into a technical solution, work with program management to

ensure technical requirements and performance are achieved, support

interactions with customers, and provide technical support to related

proposal efforts.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • B.S. degree in a related technical field (e.g., aerospace engineering, systems engineering,
  • mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering with coursework or experience in space
  • engineering)
  • Familiarity with spacecraft requirements and subsystems design
  • Experience working with both scientists and engineers
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to present clearly and succinctly to customers
  • Must be a US citizen able to obtain a DoD security clearance
  • Must be able to travel 25%

It would be even better if you have:

  • Knowledge about the US strategic weapons enterprise
  • Knowledge about hypersonic reentry vehicles
  • 5+ years of relevant systems engineering or advanced degree(s) in
  • a related field
  • Experience with AGI’s System Tool Kit (STK)
  • Experience with space hardware development and testing
  • Experience with concept development R&D
  • Understanding of space environment
  • Understanding of risks and risk mitigations for spaceflight systems
  • A current DoD or DoE clearance
