Should Cost Engineering Intern

About this role  

Carrier is seeking an engineering intern for the Should Cost team within the Engineering Operations’ Design to Value & Quality team. The candidate selected for this position will work within the team supporting Should Cost projects. The candidate will engage with the Should Cost team, Carrier’s business units & the WHQ Supply Chain organization to follow requests through the Should Cost process. 

 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Candidate must have a sound understanding of mechanical assemblies.
  • Execute and report on Should Cost projects assigned by the Should Cost team leader.
  • Work within the Should Cost workflow and request process.
  • Create and maintain the logistics of material movement throughout the Should Cost laboratory.
  • Perform product teardowns and document the overall process.
  • Utilize standardized Should Cost software tools, document reports, and present to leadership.

 

Required Qualifications  

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Material Science, Manufacturing, or related fields.
  • 3.0 or higher GPA
  • Applicant must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident

 

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Interest in design for manufacturing and assembly
  • Experience with CAD and CAE tools is a plus.
  • Strong team and interpersonal skills and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to perform well working in teams, organize/lead teams, and mentor team members.
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Interest/experience in value engineering preferred.
