Scientific and Technical Intelligence (S&TI) Analyst

Specific Duties

 

  • Serves as an all-source scientific and technical intelligence (S&TI) analyst responsible for the research and application of engineering principles and all-source analysis to identify or estimate the characteristics and performance of current, developmental, and future guided and unguided foreign indirect-fire (artillery) munitions. 
  • Reviews, exploits, analyzes, and makes engineering judgments based on collected intelligence data and develops models and simulations using computer aided design and engineering software to evaluate performance. 
  • Works with modeling engineers to develop threat representative munitions trajectory models to support sustainment and development of offensive and defensive US materiel solutions. 
  • Produces and provides tailored analytic products to support a wide range of customers from design engineers and warfighters to decision and policy makers.

Specialized Experience &Minimum Qualifications

 

Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.

Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilitiesnecessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled.

  • Specialized experience is defined as experience in conducting open-source research, vetting and analyzing information to make sound engineering judgments on aerospace airframe and system configurations. Applies collected data and analysis to develop models and simulations using computer aided design and engineering software to evaluate system capabilities and performance.

Qualifications for the GG-07/09 grade level:  To qualify applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (GG-05/07).
