Department Description:

The Project Engineering Co-op will work as a member of the Facilities, Engineering, and Validation (FEV) team.  The FEV team is responsible for the procurement, modification, and sustainability of equipment and utilities at the Binney Street manufacturing facility and technical research and development laboratories.

Job Description:

The Binney Street FEV team is looking for a Project Engineering Co-op to assist with the execution of strategic initiatives to advance the site's lead vaccine candidate through Phase III clinical trials.  The candidate will execute projects related to the procurement, modification, and / or optimization of GMP manufacturing equipment / utilities / laboratory instrumentation.  The candidate will be asked to support commissioning / qualification activities for GMP manufacturing equipment / utilities.  

Basic Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Must be able to work full-time (35-40 hours/week) throughout the duration of the assignment.
  • Must have an active student status and/or within 12 months post-graduation from a BS or MS degree program. Post-doctoral candidates are not eligible.

The Project Engineering Co-op will possess the following behaviors:

  • Interest in clinical / commercial GMP manufacturing operations and eager to learn more about technical operations.
  • Motivated and hardworking individual who has strong attention to detail and is willing to perform due diligence / research to gain a thorough understanding of the task at hand when learning a new skill.  
  • Resilience in overcoming unexpected setbacks and possesses a willingness to work through challenges to deliver results.

Benefits:

  • While GSK embraces a flexible work environment, we do require certain positions to be onsite. Candidates who are hired for an on-site role or hybrid role, and reside outside of 50-miles from their assigned work location, are eligible for relocation stipend. This is a one-time payment to help offset housing & relocation expenses. Please refer to the position details for the requirements of each position. 
  • GSK Interns and Co-ops are offered a competitive hourly pay rate and benefits. Please note, benefits eligibility determined the month following date of hire.
