Your New Role

The Intern, US Merchandising Strategy will assist in developing and implementing the editorial strategy and vision for the MAX platform and the strategy across Warner Media Entertainment. In this role, you will be working on the team responsible for the editorial experience for consumers that combines WarnerMedia and Discovery brands into one voice, delighting users through engagement.

 

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Contribute to the curation of custom collections in the app, emails, and web landing pages.
  • Support segmentation of audiences with content tagging efforts.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis of competitive landscape and industry trends.
  • Assist with QA and oversight of campaign milestones.
  • Write descriptions, taglines, and captions in adherence with the MAX brand voice and tone.
  • Assist in data collection and analytics for continuous editorial improvements.
  • Become familiar with strategies on feature rollouts, industry standards and changes, and product improvements.
  • Research and report on new strategies to increase content consumption and drive interest.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Excellent copywriting skills
  • Knowledge of competitive landscape including SVOD and OTT services.
  • Detail oriented, organized, adept at prioritizing tasks, able to delegate appropriate responsibilities to editors and managers.
  • Developed creative taste and strong instinct for stories and experiences that will capture consumers.
  • Ability to actively engage in strategic conversations with social insights and community perspectives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and accountable with executive-level presence.
  • Ability to adapt rapidly in a fast-moving environment with shifting priorities.
  • Must be actively enrolled in a U.S. accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required) 
  • Must be a rising Junior, Senior or Graduate Student (18 years or older) 
  • Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA) 
  • Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States. 

 

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience and success in setting strategic context and helping develop creatives.
  • Experience in content editorial and/or related experience at an entertainment media company a plus.

And finally, what to know before applying: 

The duration of the program is 11 weeks  

Program dates: 

  • Start Date: January 29th 
  • End Date: April 19th  

Interns will be expected to work 16-24 hours per week in a hybrid capacity.

Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.  

Interviewing will take place from October through mid-December. A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates. 

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The rate listed is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Rate: $19 per hour USD for undergrad interns, $25 per hour USD for graduate level interns.
