Equity & Inclusion Internship: ATL - Spring 2024

Your New Role 

 We have multiple Equity & Inclusion internship opportunities available. By applying to this posting, you will be considered for all internship opportunities within this area. These internships will be located in the ATL area. The selected interns will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern managers in office schedule. 

 This could include, but is not limited to: 

  • DEI Workforce & Strategy Intern: ATL - Spring 2024
  • Warner Bros. Discovery Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Intern- CNN & WBD Sports: ATL - Spring 2024

 

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Helping identify opportunities to engage underserved audiences and storytellers.
  • Updating and maintaining calendar with key dates and priorities.
  • Assist with the creation and editing of written content for press releases, social media, presentations, and marketing materials.
  • Monitor trends, stories and other administrative tasks.
  • Using social media to tell an engaging, cohesive story through any visual medium (newsletters, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube video, etc.).
  • Assisting with organizing and building special events for press, influencers and employees.
  • Work with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team to support team projects, initiatives, events.
  • Partner with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Senior Manager and team members to drive existing goals &
    initiatives.
  • Provide support to internal stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in all meetings and pitch ideas as they have them.
  • Maintain the organization of employee participation and programming assets as it relates to upcoming
    diversity journalism conventions.
  • Partner with internal communications to draft and send monthly newsletters for internal mentorship
    and development programs.
  • At the end of the semester, our intern will have gained various experiences related to interdepartmental collaboration

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience in Microsoft Office.
  • Attention to detail, excellent writing and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a strong team player, enjoy working collaboratively and willing to take direction.
  • Well-versed in social media and digitally savvy.
  • A background in marketing, journalism and/or content creation, and an understanding of storytelling across platforms.
  • Essentials needed for the positions that are similar across the above roles (these do not all have to apply to every single role)  
  • Must be actively enrolled in a U.S. accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required) 
  • Must be a rising Junior, Senior or Graduate Student (18 years or older) 
  • Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA) 
  • Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States. 

 

The Nice To Haves

  • Speaks fluent Spanish (native speaker) with strong written and verbal communication skills

And finally, what to know before applying: 

The duration of the program is 11 weeks  

Program dates: 

  • Start Date: January 29th 
  • End Date: April 19th  

 

Interns will be expected to work 16-24 hours per week in a hybrid capacity.  

Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.  

Interviewing will take place from October through mid-December. A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.
