Bridge Engineer

Join our nationally recognized team of bridge engineering professionals performing design and inspection of bridge and structural elements, ranging from small, local structures to major river crossings. 

B&N Bridge Engineer Responsibilities:

  • As part of a team guided by experienced Professional Engineers, grow your skills in both bridge design and routine bridge inspection 
  • Design concrete and steel members for a variety of bridge structures and related structural elements
  • Prepare final design details and work with staff to produce final construction deliverables for a variety of bridge structures
  • Document and report bridge conditions for routine or special bridge inspection assignments in accordance with National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS)
  • Write reports and analyze load ratings of bridges and culverts working with DOT’s, counties and/or municipalities to assess bridge infrastructure

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program, Fall 2023 or Spring 2024 graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Engineer-in-Training, EIT, preferred 
  • 0-4 years of professional experience with bridge design and/or inspection
  • Ability to work in the field as needed and to withstand high levels of physical exertion including walking, climbing, bending, carrying, and lifting up to 50 lbs. 
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • A valid driver's license with acceptable driving history required
  • Microsoft Office and Bentley software proficiency is preferred 
  • Bridge Inspection & Design software experience is highly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills 

Travel arrangements to and from work assignments including airfare, hotel, and meals are reimbursed. All safety training, equipment, tools, and tech are provided.
