Landscape Architecture Internship

Ready to put what you’ve been learning into practice? Come join Coastal Vista at our Sanibel Island location for our Spring 2024 internship. This internship is designed to give YOU the opportunity to learn about landscape architecture practice on ecologically sensitive barrier islands. You’ll be involved in all stages of projects spanning. Plus - you get to do this on an incredible barrier island off the southwest coast of Florida.  

 

Coastal Vista’s team is actively working with our community on Sanibel and Captiva Islands to implement climate change-adaptation strategies to generate ecological and social health on highly sensitive barrier islands. Our region was significantly impacted by Hurricane Ian in 2022, so you’ll have the opportunity to witness and participate in rebuilding community for a healthier future. 

 Responsibilities: 

The spring 2024 Coastal Vista Design Intern will have the opportunity to be immersed in a full-service landscape architecture studio from research through construction. You’ll be involved from research, concept design and project planning to construction administration and project monitoring. Site inspections and in the field design experience is frequently available, which you give you a remarkable skill set to jumpstart your career.   

 

Qualifications: 

Currently enrolled or recent graduate (last 12 months) from an accredited landscape architecture program (BLA/MLA candidates accepted) 

A passion for design, eagerness to learn and commitment to professional and personal development 

Candidate shall possess strong creative problem-solving skills and be capable of advancing concepts to construction drawings and finish designs from plan to the built environment. 

Proficiency in AutoCAD + Adobe Creative Suite 

Clear effective writing, communication skills 

Experience with 3D modeling and professional experience is a plus 

 

Benefits: 

Compensation - $22/hour, 42.5 hours/week 

On-Site Housing - available for duration of internship (3-month minimum, February-July 2024 preferred)
