Pastor of Worship and Groups

Crossroads Church exists to make disciples who make more disciples of Jesus Christ.  We are currently seeking a Pastor of Worship and Groups to join our staff team and lead these areas of ministry. This unique role will help shape our worship services, spearhead our music and tech teams, shepherd our worship experiences, and oversee both the vision and strategy of our community groups.  This position will offer the opportunity to lead and empower incredible volunteers as we strive to love, connect, and serve on the journey with Christ. This is a pastoral role and does require some general pastoral responsibilities.  In our context, a pastoral role is reserved for a male. 

Responsibilities:

1. Lead Worship

  • Works with the service planning team to create holistic God-honoring services that reflect the mission, vision, and core values of Crossroads Church.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team culture that encourages creativity, growth, and a shared passion for worship.
  • Direct and oversee worship and tech ministry, including selecting and arranging songs, leading rehearsals, and coordinating with musicians, vocalists, and both sound and lighting techs.

2. Direct Community Groups

  • Promotes a spiritually vibrant small group environment through recruiting, equipping, and training Community Group Leaders.
  • Foster a sense of community and discipleship within small groups through intentional programming and relationship-building.
  • Champions “the larger we get the smaller we must become” mindset in all ministry contexts.

3. General Pastoral Ministry

  • Engage in relational shepherding and discipleship by personal involvement in the lives of individuals and families.
  • Perform membership interviews and make recommendations to the Elders regarding those pursuing membership.
  • Perform weddings and funerals along with other members of the pastoral team.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills and relational leadership skills.
  • Passion for helping people connect in smaller discipleship environments and the ability to train and coach group leaders.
  • Bachelor's degree in theology, ministry, or a related field preferred.
