About the Position:
Under the direction of a Senior Transportation Engineer (the District National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Coordinator) in the District 5 Environmental Engineering group, incumbent represents the District in a wide variety of landscape activities related to Storm Water and erosion control disciplines. In this capacity the incumbent may work on multi-modal transportation and facility design, erosion control design, SW treatment best management practices, roadside management, resource conservation, regional planning, site planning and development, complete streets, and sustainable design. Serves as a liaison with the Central Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board for regulatory issues. Participates in the planning and design of storm water projects and other activities to satisfy requirements of NPDES statewide permit for transportation facilities. Supports the Design Division in Storm Water issues for the compliance with the Statewide NPDES Permit. Occasional travel and overnight stays may be required. Possession of a valid driver's license is required when operating a state-owned vehicle.
