Summary:

Reporting to the Manager, Engineering, the Engineering Intern will learn the functions and processes of Martin Marietta’s Enterprise Engineering Services. Engineering Services oversees the management and support of various-sized projects in support of Division Operations Management related to plant additions and modifications. Activities and tasks range from operational excellence audits and follow-up on initiatives that arise to data collection and analysis, plant flow modeling, and, but are not limited to, administrative support for projects.

 

Intern Responsibilities:

  • Must be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated.
  • Will take an active role in the company’s safety initiatives.
  • Must be a self-motivated, strong work ethic individual that is willing to work with minimal supervision.
  • Will learn to use software necessary for engineering products.
  • Using, Aggflow and AutoCAD, will assist with document development as needed.

Qualifications and skills:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • High-level verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in an office or field environment where sitting, standing, kneeling, or bending for long periods of time may be required.
  • Ability to wear PPE while in the field (Safety Glasses, Safety Toe Shoes, Hardhats, Earplugs, High-Viz Vest or Shirts, other as required)
  • Ability to use Microsoft products (Word, Excel)
