Roadway Engineer

Responsibilities

 

 

 

What you'll be challenged to do:
 

TranSystems’ Fort Lauderdale office has an opportunity for an Engineer 1 to join our Roadway Practice. This Engineer 1 will be a member of our roadway group and will assist in various tasks including plan preparation, quantity calculation, geometric design, drainage design, MOT, specifications, cost estimates and other related tasks. Microstation, Geopak, and MS Office and other design software will be used, and all work will be in collaboration with other engineers, technicians, planners, and surveyors.

 

General Duties & Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Candidates must possess strong technical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment on multi-disciplinary projects.  
  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.


Qualifications

 

What you bring to our firm:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program
  • Experience with MicroStation/GEOPAK; Open Roads Design experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Programs
  • Familiarity with FDOT plans preparation requirements for roadway projects is a plus. 
  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.

What we’d prefer for you to bring to our firm:

  • 0-2 years of design experience
  • EIT certification
  • Experience within the transportation industry is a plus.
