Engineering Intern

 

Targeted Hourly Pay: $25.00

POSITION PURPOSE: Internships at Veolia: Gain hands-on experience in at least one career function from Corporate, Engineering, Maintenance, Manufacturing, Operations, Sales, Supply Chain or Technology.

Student Exploration and Experience Development (SEED) is a 10-week internship opportunity at Veolia for students to gain hands-on experience in sustainability and ecological transformation. They will work on real-world projects, receive mentorship from industry professionals, and participate in workshops and networking events. The program aims to nurture talent, promote innovation, and foster meaningful connections between students and industry professionals. Overall, the SEED program provides students with the skills, knowledge, and connections needed to make a positive impact in the industry.

Internship dates: June 17th, 2024- August 23rd, 2024.

PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help with editing writing and collecting data on site (Brooklyn Navy Yard)
  • Writing procedures for preventative maintenance program
  • Assist with the review of preventive procedures and maintenance plans
  • Intern would need mechanical/ electrical engineering background
  • Work both on site and in office
  • Working on assigned projects under supervision of manager as well as qualified engineer, as delegated.

Internships are focused on learning and exposure to fundamental business processes and procedures.

Candidates may support any of the Veolia North America business functions. During the matching process we will work to have you intern in the business function of most interest to you.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

Environments vary by internship function from office to field to plant. Our aim is to provide tangible industry job experience to each intern. While we may extend offers to some interns, there is no guarantee of a job offer at the end of the internship.

Qualifications

Education / Experience / Background:

  • Working towards a four-year degree and you have Junior status in a related major. Example: If the internship is in electrical engineering, you are a junior working towards an electrical engineering (or similar such as electronics engineering) degree.
  • 3.2 Cumulative G.P.A required.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, listening, presentation and facilitation skills / Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships.

Required Certification / Licenses / Training

  • Certification/Licenses/Training not generally required for an internship.
