Engineering Program Specialist

As an Engineering Program/Project Specialist, you will be working directly with the Storage Networking team. You will design, plan, develop and manage a product or process within our group. From process introduction to driving enhancements to existing process, you will be responsible for the end-to-end solution. You will monitor project success and continue enhancements while working with a core team of different disciplines. 

 

One such project you will be responsible for is integration of the Storage Networking Development Roadmap within the larger storage group. It is essential that our roadmap process is flawless in terms of budget, timely project execution, and updates to management. 

 

Good time management and people skills are essential to your success. An understanding of the business will develop throughout this internship. 

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Awareness and familiarity with relevant subject matter knowledge including technologies, theories, or techniques.
  • Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas.
  • Successfully operates in and between the most complex disciplines in the company such as electrical, mechanical, thermal, software and power engineering. Works on extremely complex problems and provides highly innovative solutions.
  • Takes direction from senior Program/Product Management in developing methods, techniques and criteria for achieving objectives.

 

Qualifications:

  • Quickly able to understand technologies, architectures and designs and able to articulate them
  • Proven analytical ability and able to think outside the box
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Driven, with an entrepreneurial spirit and sense of urgency. Must be resourceful, proactive and aggressive
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and possessing a high level of integrity
  • Team player that works well in collaborative situations and start-up environments
  • Natural leadership skills and the ability to work with diverse teams in a global setting across the company.

 

Education and Experience Required:

  • Four-year university students who are working in a technical internship role at the company during their study or in summer breaks between university semesters
  • Understanding of Engineering principles and ability to apply them effectively
  • Ability to effectively communicate with program management and others a description of technical issues and their impacts to an overall program
