Universal Destinations & Experiences Internship Program: 

This job posting advertises opportunities for both Summer and Fall 2024 semesters. Candidates will indicate which semester they are interested within the application.

Internship, Universal Creative – IP Management

JOB SUMMARY: Intern will gain exposure to the multidisciplinary creative process of producing IP specific attractions in alignment with project schedules, milestones, and deliverables. Intern will support IP approval/asset tracking and coordination with other departments such as Legal, Merchandise, Marketing, and F&B. Intern will gain experience in building and maintaining relationships with IP stakeholders and vendors, while learning processes for effective project management and professional communication.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates submittal decks for IP reviews and approval. 
  • Facilitates meetings and take detailed notes. 
  • Tracks and maintains Smartsheets for submittals, approvals, asset requests, legal clearances, and asset sharing across departments. 
  • Assists in facilitating in-person site walks and creative reviews with IP Holders on a regular basis. 
  • Learns the IP and act as a subject matter expert for the team to inform creative decisions in design and fabrication. 
  • Interfaces with all project disciplines and leadership to share status reports and IP information as needed.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION: 

  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Sophomore or above.
  • Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.
  • Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required. 
  • An official transcript may be required upon request. 
  • Preferred majors include: Themed Experience, Theatre, Studio Art, Arts Administration, Theme Park Management.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: 

Preferable skills for success in role include but not limited to:

  • Experience or education in theatre, visual arts, other media related design/production field, or arts administration required. 
  • Comfortability with public speaking required.
  • Familiarity with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Smartsheet preferred. Experience in visual arts, writing/storytelling, event planning or project management preferred.
  • Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Superior written & verbal communication skills.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.
  • Consistent attendance.

Internship – Global Communications & Brand Management

JOB SUMMARY: Intern will get a well-rounded look at all aspects of internal communications, external communications, and brand management for Universal Creative. Intern will receive a behind-the-scenes look at editorial content creation, division events, executive communications, and participate in all efforts to support our Team Members globally.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports annual editorial calendar.
  • Contributes to content creation.
  • Assist with global communications efforts across all platforms.
  • Engage in long and short form writing assignments. 
  • Completes graphic design assignments.
  • Generates monthly impact reports.
  • Provides social media support.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION: 

  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.
  • Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.
  • Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.

Internship, Universal Creative – Engagement & Events, Human Resources

JOB SUMMARY: Intern will have the opportunity to create, develop, and execute engaging events and programs that influence the culture at Universal Creative. They will learn about the entire planning cycle of events from ideation to day-of logistics, working with vendors, and procuring products. They will learn the benefits of networking and workplace culture. The learning goal for this semester will be to learn how the impact of successful programs positively influences Team Members' engagement and affects overall employee morale. Intern will also be assisting with the large-scale recruitment conferences and community engagement experiences, organizing and booking talent for Universal Creative demonstrations at remote locations.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organizes art installations and load in and out of event elements.
  • Works with vendors ordering giveaway items, credentials, and with internal events team to manage onsite logistics, catering, a/v, entertainment, etc. 
  • Assists with the UC Gives thanks campaign and identifying international volunteer opportunities.
  • Contributes ideas and initiatives to enhance employee engagement through events, collaborating with HR to create events that align with the organization's culture and values.
  • Assists with support and planning partnership recruitment conferences and job fair events.
  • Creates verbal and/or graphics content to support events and programs.
  • Updates and uploads to SharePoint site.
  • Participates in meetings and assist with special projects.
  • Recommend and create SOPs to improve department efficiency and overall functionality.
  • Manages event registrations, RSVPs, and attendance tracking.
  • Assists with participant communication, providing information about event details and logistics.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.

Internship, Universal Creative – Finance

JOB SUMMARY: Intern will gain practical experience in applying theoretical knowledge from the classroom to real-world financial scenarios. The primary purpose of the internship is to equip interns with skills, insights, and abilities that are essential for a thriving career in the field of finance. Intern will be exposed to various aspects of finance and accounts payable processes within a professional setting. This may involve tasks such as processing invoices, reconciling accounts, managing vendor relationships, and assisting in financial reporting. By participating in these activities, Intern will develop a hands-on understanding of how financial operations function within a Fortune 500 business.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists Finance team with various account reconciliations and financial reporting.
  • Assists Accounts Payable team with invoice review and audits.
  • Updates Accounts Payable log and tracks down invoices from vendors.
  • Works with Finance and Universal Creative Project Team in completing month end close, financial update, and ad-hoc requests.
  • Supports AP team with invoicing (including invoices that may require translation).
  • Assists with month-end close, data entry, and verifying transactions.
  • Creates and maintains Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Communicates with vendors on outstanding items.
  • Performs data analysis in data reporting as needed
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Internship – Legal Affairs

JOB SUMMARY: Intern will provide support to the legal/contracts team by drafting various contract documents, proofing various documents, tracking compliance with contract documents/partnership agreements, and researching certain legal-related questions. In addition, Intern will provide support as needed to other areas of the Legal team such as clearance, master agreements, training, and process improvement. The purpose of the role is to gain exposure to the various facets of a corporate contracts/legal team in a project environment.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drafts and proofs various contract documents.
  • Assists in compliance tracking and follow up related to roadway work, warranty and other matters as needed.
  • Assists with various department initiatives.
  • Assists with drafting and proofing various agreements under the direction of Attorney and Sr. Director of Legal Affairs.Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION: 

  • In pursuit of a Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution.
  • Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.
