Engineer in Training

Ideal candidate will have 0-4 year's experience in the Civil Engineering Field, Related Bridge Design Education or experience preferred. 

Candidate will have passed the FE exam and be registered as an Engineering Intern/Engineer in Training with the State Board of Engineering

Location: 
  • New Orleans, LA office 
  • Entry level Engineer with 0-4 years experience. 

Responsibilities: 
  • Review and check standard structural design calculations; 
  • Perform limited structural analysis of standard bridge components using general analysis software, client-specific software and in-house programs under direct guidance from senior-level engineers or project managers; 
  • Develop preliminary details using CAD software, and provide information to CAD technicians for development of contract plans directly related to design work; 
  • Prepare project-related documents and internal correspondence; Perform and check quantity take-offs from contract plans; 
  • Review and check basic structural and shop drawings; Provide information for design or analysis reports 
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned 

Education and License Requirements: 
  • A minimum of a BS degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university and 
  • Must have passed the FE exam and registered as an Engineering Intern/Engineer in Training with the State Board of Engineering

Skills and Abilities: 
  • Knowledge of structural analysis design techniques, tools and principles; Basic knowledge of computer assisted drafting and design; 
  • Ability to use standard engineering analysis software; 
  • Ability to effectively receive and convey ideas and information orally and in writing.
