Universal Destinations & Experiences Internship Program: 

This job posting advertises opportunities for both Summer and Fall 2024 semesters. Candidates will indicate which semester they are interested within the application.

Internship – Experience Strategy & Design, Digital & Technology (Summer/Fall 2024)

JOB SUMMARY: The Experience Strategy & Design intern will work cross-functionally with Digital & Technology, Creative, and Operations to help imagine, articulate, and drive experience innovation for Universal Destinations & Experiences globally. The role will provide exposure to experience design, vision documentation, executive communication, and pre-visualization for new digital and physical experiences. The internship will explore how to effectively create visions for current and future destinations and help shape our overall strategies through dynamic storytelling.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates visual assets to support experience strategies and alignment. 
  • Assists development of PowerPoint presentations illustrating complex ideas through consumable graphics and other story-vignettes. 
  • Develops initial mockups of digital user interfaces for concept purposes only. 
  • Leverages a variety of digital mediums to better plan, communicate, and workshop new immerging industry, entertainment, and travel trends.
  • Assist with experience testing, activations, and implementations.
  • Creates time-based assets (video, gaming, AR/VR) to help provide a new perspective into emerging technologies and visions. 
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION: 

  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Sophomore or above.
  • Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.
  • Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required. 
  • An official transcript may be required upon request. 
  • Preferred majors include: Interactive Design, Gaming, Computer Animation, Art/Illustration, Graphic Design, Architecture.

 


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: 

Preferable skills for success in role include but not limited to:

  • Proficiency with creative digital tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, 3D Modeling Software with a background in Design, Art, Illustration, Modelling required.
  • Understanding of UX/UI design preferred. 
  • Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Superior written & verbal communication skills.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.

Internship – Front End Software Engineer, Digital Technology (Summer/Fall 2024)

JOB SUMMARY: This intern role will work with the delivery teams to define, develop, test, and analyze guest-facing websites and applications in support of the business requirements and project goals. Intern will interface with front-end developers, service developers, project managers, product owners and business partners to deliver assigned tasks throughout the production life cycle. Intern will also have exposure to the testing and build/deployment processes for releasing products to production. 


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works as part of a scrum team to create code that directly contributes to project deliverables.
  • Collaborates with scrum master, product owner, developers, and architecture team members to understand the scope management and delivery processes. 
  • Acts as a liaison with technical staff to assist in resolving issues found during testing and validation. 
  • Actively shares ideas, accomplishments, and blockers to the delivery teams and leadership. 
  • Attends meetings related to the project deliverables and provide status updates. 
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION: 

  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Sophomore or above.

  • Preferred knowledge of CI/CD, Unit Testing, Linting, and Code Coverage.
  • Preferred knowledge of Agile Scrum or Scaled Agile Framework.

Internship – Communications & Integration, Digital & Technology (Summer/Fall 2024)

JOB SUMMARY: Intern will assist leadership in creating and executing internal communication strategies to increase connectivity and understanding across teams globally in the Digital Technology group. By helping with the communication and integration strategy, Intern will learn the ins and outs of internal communication, executive support as well as grow interpersonal communication skills and problem-solving abilities. Intern will support all communication tactics and programing with a deep understanding of our DEI practices.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collects and prepares communication tactics that support the broader Digital Technology team, including town halls, weekly updates, email newsletters, leadership meetings, team initiatives, and more. 
  • Supports ongoing initiatives such as executive roundtables, event planning, onboarding, and orientation.
  • Oversees maintenance of SharePoint site.
  • Supports leadership in design and communication efforts.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION: 

  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.

Internship – Data Engineering (Summer/Fall 2024)

JOB SUMMARY: Intern will be responsible for developing basic data processing pipeline to ingest data from different data sources, process data for various downstream consumption and deliver data to target state, platform, or departments as appropriate. In some cases, Intern will engage in enhancement of existing data engineering framework to process any new data format or type from new sources. Development of SQLs, Python code for data processing, standardization, sanitation, aggregation and distribution will be part of Intern responsibilities. 


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops secure, scalable, efficient and high quality ETLs.
  • Utilizes data processing applications, data integrations, data workflows, and data ingestions pipelines using APIs. 
  • Utilizes streaming techniques, Python or similar languages, Spark, Airflow or similar data engineering pipelines, and data management best practices.
  • Automates and optimizes data workflows and processing performance, secure sharing, automated monitoring and alerts. 
  • Produces deliverables and artifacts like detailed design, code, assumptions, unit test cases and results.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 


EDUCATION: 

  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.
  • Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.
  • Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.

Internship – Data Architect Solution Engineering (Summer/Fall 2024)

JOB SUMMARY: Intern will have the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of data architecture and platforms. Intern will work closely with our experienced team members to learn about data management, database design, and platform optimization. Throughout this semester, the intern will gain enhanced problem solving and critical thinking skills in a real-world business environment. This internship is designed to provide valuable skills and knowledge in data engineering, data modeling, and data platform technologies.  


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in the design and maintenance of data architectures. 
  • Contributes to the development of data models and schemas.
  • Supports the creation and optimization of data pipelines and ETL processes. 
  • Collaborates with data engineers and analysts on data related projects. 
  • Participates in meetings discuss project process and requirements. 
  • Conducts research on emerging data technologies and trends. 
  • Assists with data quality assurance and validation processes. 
  • Engages in documentation and knowledge sharing activities.
  • Works with various database systems and data warehousing technologies.
