Engineering Intern (Electrical or Mechanical Part-Time Spring 2024)

SUMMARY:  

 The purpose of the internship is to provide professional practical experience to Junior and Senior Engineering students starting Spring 2024.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Observe and perform various service and test processes and procedures.
  • Learn and ensure proper care of tools and test equipment and ensure calibration.
  • Enhance and maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes and procedures regarding safe and effective use of equipment.
  • Complete necessary service and repair documentation following company policies and procedures.
  • Work with senior level engineers to write and formalize test plans.  Provide technical support.
  • Maintain communications with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge, Skill, & Abilities 

  • Strong academic performance.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues to the customer in an easy to understand manner.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Applications.

 

Education 

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s degree or higher level college/university program in engineering.
  • Engineering degree must be in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering.

 

Experience 

  • No professional experience required.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

  • Laboratory and office environment.

 

Equipment Used 

  • Laboratory and test equipment.

 

Travel Required 

  • Ability to travel up to 10% may be required for this position.
