Job Overview
Reporting to the Development Manager, the Engineering Intern assists with the development activities for medical devices, including design, prototyping, technical analyses, and testing. The Intern collaborates closely with Design Engineers and Process Engineers to understand the fundamentals of the technical process. The Intern will communicate directly with the Development Manager and provide feedback as needed. The Intern will be expected to learn technical skills and execute them.
Main Responsibilities
- Gain knowledge and understanding of the design process and quality requirements.
- Perform basic design operations using a CAD modeling system.
- Calculate fundamental statistics and provide summary information to the Manager.
- Assist other engineering members concerning laboratory work or documentation.
- Author and review technical documents, providing comments and feedback as necessary.
Skills and Qualification
- 0-3 years of experience
- BS Mechanical Engineering/BS Biomedical Engineering including current education.
- Knowledge of mechanical design and CAD systems (Solidworks preferred)
- Fundamental mathematical knowledge and comprehension including basic Algebra and Statistics
- Proficient in Microsoft office with an intermediate level of knowledge regarding MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
- Proficient in oral and written communication
- Demonstrates good judgment as well as cultural, social, and environmental awareness.
