Project Engineer

The Project Engineer provides administrative and technical services in the fields of scheduling, cost engineering, subcontract coordination, and general project administration. Along with job site project managers and superintendents, project engineers have responsibilities in overall project oversight and may be assigned to a particular sections, subcontractor, or other faces of the project. 

RESPONSIBLITIES

Assist in development of the project plan as requested. 

Collaborate with Project Manager in purchasing activities including scoping and take-offs. 

Prepare and forward submittals. Confirm submittals comply with plans/specifications. 

  • Ensure hierarchy of submittals are completed.
  • Enforce Subcontract requirements of submittal requirements.
  • Oversee implementation of submittals in the field.
  • Enforce timelines/deadlines of submittals.
  • Maintain updated procurement schedule.
  • Determine long lead items and ensure they are ordered in a timely manner.

Main point of contact for RFI’s. 

  • Receive information from field regarding RFI’s.
  • Enforce timelines/deadlines with Design Professionals and Subcontractors, etc.

Support the development and updating of the project schedule and subcontractor detail schedules. 

Monitor and expedite material deliveries ensuring all deliveries conform with the project schedule. 

Administer subcontracts as assigned. 

Assist the Project Manager and Superintendents in the coordination of drawings. 

Draft change orders. Solicity prices from subcontractors and suppliers. Perform scope take-off and estimate costs. 

Aid in close out of project; including assembling manual sand other warranties for turnover and preparation of final payment documents for subcontractors. 

Participate/lead training session. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree, preferred.  Preference in Construction Management and/or Engineering.

Proficient time management, organization skills and attention to details. 

Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop strong working relationships. 

CAD experience is a plus.
