Housing Rehab Manager

Under the general direction of the Housing Programs Manager, the Housing Rehabilitation Manager is responsible for the development, coordination, management and implementation of the department’s housing and neighborhood loan and grant programs.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

HOUSING PROGRAM MANAGEMENT

  • Ensure and monitor compliance with program goals, project objectives, and local/federal regulations and requirements and contract provisions, including reviewing cost estimated rehabilitation scopes of work.
  • Participate in program development and process improvement projects to ensure compliance with guidelines and alignment with departmental goals.
  • Maintain relationships with partners, including local policymakers, community-based organizations and neighborhood residents, and assist with outreach to highlight the department’s housing and neighborhood development loan and grant programs.

 

STAFF MANAGEMENT

  • Coordinate and manage staff administering the housing and neighborhood development loan and grant programs, ensuring efficiency, compliance and the highest level of customer service.

 

ADMINISTRATION

  • Participate in the development of annual operating and capital budgets for the department and monitor budgets throughout the year.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Position will require working variable hours as required by the needs of the department, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Will require travel to various sites throughout the City of Milwaukee as needed.
  • The Housing Rehabilitation Manager is required to file a statement of economic interests in accordance with the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Chapter 303 - Code of Ethics.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business, architecture, real estate development, public policy or close related field.
  2. Three years of experience supervising and coordinating neighborhood/housing redevelopment activities and programs.
  3. Valid driver’s license and properly insured vehicle at time of appointment and throughout employment. Mileage reimbursement is provided.

 

Equivalent combinations of education and professional experience will be considered.

 

CURRENT SALARY

The current salary range (1IX) is $95,170-$112,137 annually, and the resident incentive salary range for City of Milwaukee residents is $98,025-$115,501. Appointment above the minimum is possible based upon level of experience and other qualifications and is subject to approval.
