899 Engineering Student Trainee

Degree Requirement: course of study leading to a Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering.

 

Interns will be expected to report onsite to gain hands-on experience and may have minimal remote work assigned. As such, this internship may be a part time, year round opportunity while attending school.  Housing is the responsibility of the applicant.  Please select your desired duty location accordingly.   

 

The Federal Aviation Administration’s Engineering Services organization provides engineering design, construction, installation, and testing of air-to-ground communications, radar, navigational aids, electrical power systems, HVAC, and buildings used in the National Airspace System (NAS).

The Gateways Internship Program provides students the opportunity to join a diverse team of talented and dedicated technical professionals. Students will receive hands-on, practical work experience and have the opportunity to learn about the (NAS). Students will learn about and use safety protocols including Operational Risk Management and use of personal protective equipment. Students will also obtain an in-depth understanding of how the facilities, systems and equipment support the day to-day operations of the NAS. Students who have an interest in computer science, electronics technology, or engineering will be sure to find a fulfilling career in engineering.

Student will assist and support the day-to-day tasks associated with a variety of the Engineering Group of positions and will include work assignments that concentrate in one or more of the following engineering disciplines:  Safety, Fire Protection, Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, and Electronics.
