Engineering Intern, Research and Development Department Fall 2024

We're looking for Engineering Interns to temporarily join our R&D Department at our Global Headquarters located in Frisco, TX
 
Intern Job Description: The Engineering intern's primary objective will be to pride support to the Engineering Staff. This Engineering intern's responsibilities will include performing engineering and statistical calculations, including working with spreadsheets and various other statistical software. This Intern will gain valuable experience performing lab work, including but not limited to, benchtop feasibility and verification testing.
 
The Engineering Intern will assist the Engineering teams will CAD models and drawing utilizing AutoCAD and SolidWorks. This temporary internship will require some travel to our Athens, TX facility, and must possess the ability to lift light loads.
 
Engineering Intern Education and Experience Requirements:
·  Coursework, industrial experience, or training in product development, manufacturing, medical device development, anatomy, and any other relatable topics
·   CAD skills and SolidWorks Experience preferred
·  Proficiency in mathematical software tools (e.g., MATLAB, Mathcad, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite
·  Excellent written, oral, presentations, and communication skills
·  Analytical thinking capability
·   Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
 
This Engineering Intern will utilize technically sound engineering skills to drive a project to completion with minimal supervision, exhibiting strong hands-on skills and mechanical abilities while maintaining a professional and positive attitude, demonstrating a good work ethic, and willingness to help and undertake tasks. This individual must possess the ability to present 1:1 or in a group setting and deliver a clear and compelling message for 'one's own decisions and actions.

Note: This internship is flexible to accommodate school schedules, Monday-Friday between the hours of 7 AM and 7 PM.
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ensure that the medical devices meet their requirements through verifications and validation activities.
2. Partner with design/systems engineers in defining product requirements such that they are verifiable
3. Develop data through engineering studies that informs new product development team about the performance of the product and competitors.
4. Assist in developing Verification and Validation Plans
5. Leverage regulatory standards from ASTM, ASME, ISO, etc. for designing the Test Methods and Design Verification.
6. Develop protocols, execute product testing, perform data analysis, and write reports in compliance with procedures and SOPs.
7. Work with the design team to solve problems and utilize engineering practices and techniques for root cause and statistical analysis
8. Coordinate with internal and external partners and suppliers to procure test samples and manage various studies
9. Travel to other manufacturing sites of Argon as necessary to support the build of the product for verification and validation activities and product launch efforts
