Quality Engineering Co-Op
As a Quality Engineering Co-Op at BW Papersystems, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Working closely with our Quality Engineering team, you will contribute to the development, implementation, and improvement of quality systems to ensure the delivery of high-quality products to our customers. This position is an excellent opportunity for a student pursuing a degree in engineering or a related field to apply classroom knowledge to real-world manufacturing scenarios.
We are looking for candidates for the June-December 2024 time frame at our Baltimore location. You will receive exposure to various aspects of electrical, mechanical, and industrial engineering within a dynamic work environment, you will have an opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of quality control processes and procedures.
- Conduct inspections and testing of products to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Demonstrate commitment to quality with excellent attention to detail.
- Collaborate with the Quality Engineering team to identify areas for process improvement.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
- Collect and analyze quality data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Generate reports and present findings to the Quality Engineering team.
- Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to address quality issues.
- Participate in project teams to ensure quality considerations are integrated into product development.
- Communicate effectively within a team environment as well as having the ability to be self-directed on independent projects or tasks.
- Ability to apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Complete and maintain accurate records of quality control activities.
- Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications and Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Quality, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of coursework in Quality, Electrical, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering related technical schooling.
