About the Position:
Under the general direction of the District Division Chief of Engineering, a Supervising Transportation Engineer, the incumbent provides direct supervision and is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all functions related to the operations within the Pavement Engineering branch. The incumbent assigns work, gives instructions, and handles difficult problems in connection with the direction of the work of engineers and others. The incumbent provides technical support to functional managers for all areas of pavement engineering and source inspection within the District 11 geographical area.
