Tooling Design Intern

Engineering Interns will be working in 2D AutoCAD and 3D Inventor modeling to aid manufacturing engineering when making changes to machines, products, and given opportunities in design work. Candidates will be challenged, supported, and trained by an experienced team to be successful in this position. The position is available for up to 40 hours per week and will accommodate school schedules.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Work on 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for various ADS equipment based on guidance from engineering tea,
  • Interact professionally  with cross functional Design  and project team 
  • Comfortable with complex problem solving and rapidly changing priorities
  • Other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

Educational Requirements:

Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering with the intent to continue after the internship unless graduating.

Job Skills:

This position should possess the following skills/knowledge:

  • MS Office Suite of software (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal

  Preferred Experience:

  • Proficient in 3D modeling (Inventor is preferred) and 2D drawing generation
  • Proficient in the use of Auto CAD 2D
  • File management of 3D CAD and 2D drawing files

 Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.              
  • Work safely in and around plant equipment
  • Stand for long periods of time     
  • Travel up to 20%
