Utilities - Facilities Engineer

The purpose of the Utilities - Facilities Engineer is designing, developing, testing, and overseeing manufacturing of electrical equipment, systems, and components.  This role works on projects from concept through to implementation and handover. This role also is critical in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and safety of electrical operations within the facility.

 

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career.  These responsibilities include some of the following:

 

System Design and Engineering

Design and develop utility systems for new and existing facilities.

Create detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates.

Perform calculations and simulations to ensure optimal system performance.

Operations and Maintenance

Oversee the operation and maintenance of utility systems.

Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues with utility systems and facilities management.

Project Management

Manage utility infrastructure projects from conception through completion.

Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards.

Regulatory Compliance

Ensure all utility systems comply with local, state, and federal regulations.

Prepare and submit required reports and documentation.

Stay updated on changes to regulations and implement necessary adjustments.

Energy Management

Monitor and analyze utility usage to identify opportunities for energy savings.

Implement energy efficient technologies and practices.

Develop and track key performance indicators related to utility efficiency.

Safety and Risk Management

Develop and implement safety protocols for utility system operations.

Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.

Train staff on safe operation and emergency response procedures.

Technical Support

Provide technical support and expertise to facility management and staff.

Conduct technical assessments and recommend system improvements.

Keep abreast of new technologies and industry best practices.

 

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, civil engineering or related field

Minimum 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering within an industrial plant environment preferably overseeing utility systems and facilities management

Experience utilizing continuous improvement tools, such as LEAN, TPM, 6-Sigma, DMAIC, RCA, FMEA, cause and effect diagrams

 

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

Strong leadership skills, In-depth knowledge of engineering principles and safety regulations. 

Experience overseeing utility systems and facilities management preferred

Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards (NFPA 70)

The salary range for this role is: $81,173 to $111,614 annually
