Join Our Team as a Manufacturing Engineer (Value Stream) Intern!
Are you passionate about value stream engineering? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to coordinate our Franklin Assembly function. As a Manufacturing (Value Stream) Intern, you’ll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team.
In this job you will perform a variety of data analysis and work with the Operations team and Value Stream Engineering to improve work processes across several Value Streams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Helping document analytics requirements alongside internal stakeholders and analysts.
- Pulling data from data sources (e.g., MOM) to review and create metrics and KPIs.
- Analyzing structured data to produce descriptive and diagnostic analytics.
- Generating statistics and data visualizations to solve problems related to S&C manufacturing.
- Contributing metrics, KPIs, analytics, statistics, and/or visualizations to business intelligence assets.
- Presenting analytics summaries and conclusions to audiences at many levels.
- Developing analytics related to a specific product line and/or process based on need and interest.
What you’ll Need To Succeed:
Job Requirements ( To select this job at a minimum you must have the following):
- Must be in good standing as a student at the Bachelor’s degree level at an accredited university majoring in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related field and returning to school full-time at the end of the internship.
- Comfortable commuting and working onsite at S&C Electric Company in Franklin, WI. located at 5251 W Franklin Dr, Franklin, WI 53132.
- Ability to work Full-Time in Spring 2025 for a minimum of 10 weeks.
- Experience using Excel, R, Python, or other data manipulation software.
- Skills in presenting data-driven recommendations in simple and accessible formats.
- Introductory experience developing reports and dashboards.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Commitment to continuous improvement through formal and informal learning
Preferred:
- Prior manufacturing internship experience a plus
Major Physical Demands:
- Standing: Most tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.
- Lifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 40 lbs.
- Walking: Frequent walking of short distances to obtain parts for assembly.
- Carrying: Occasional carrying of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 25 lbs.
- Pushing: Occasional pushing of handcart to/from assembly area containing up to 50 lbs.
- Pulling: Occasional pulling of handcart to/from assembly area containing up to 50 lbs.
- Bending: Frequent bending and crouching required to complete the assembly/wiring tasks.
- Reaching: Continuous full range of motion from above the shoulders to below the knees.
- Handling: Continuous handling of parts (all sizes) along with a variety of hand tools.
