Technical Product Engineer
January 2022 - April 2024 • Auburn Hills, MI
What I liked
Selection of employees is excellent. Really get along with a lot of Polish employees and Italian employees.
What I wish was different
Only if Carlos Tavares and Heiko Schilling can both resign themselves
Advice
It is a great practice, but it leads to nothing.
Their plan seems to be getting rid of all high-paid employees which would include ALL OF US! (because we are in the US) only to save few pennies.
It is the beginning of the end, with this kind of business practice at this scale. (They tried to do this few times in the history, but at least they got the acts together before sinking) I wonder if the company will sink or not, this time

Data Engineering Intern
May 2023 • Auburn Hills, MI
What I liked
I liked the flexibility of this position. It was fully remote and there was not a strict schedule that needed to be followed. I also liked how everyone was very willing to help and teach me and other interns about other departments.
What I wish was different
I wish the hiring process was better. The communication before the internship started was not good and I was very confused.
Advice
I would definitely say reach out to as many people as possible. No one will think it’s weird or rude to set up a meeting with them to talk and get to know them better.

Materials Engineering Intern
May - August 2021 • Auburn Hills, MI
What I liked
I loved the hands-on experience everyday in a department that was directly correlated to what I have been learning about for my degree. The people and environment was extremely welcoming and I was always kept busy with projects, which my co-workers were always able to help out with when I needed it. I was able to go on visits to supplier companies as well, which was really great experience.
What I wish was different
I wouldn't change much because I got such great experience from this internship. My only wish was that I would have been able to connect with other interns more, since I only worked in one department exclusively, but I was still very happy with my department and the people I was able to work with.
Advice
I would advise to always say yes when given the opportunity to do something you haven't experienced before. Throughout the internship people asked if I wanted to tour other parts of the building and see what projects they were working on, as well as go on day trips to other facilities/partner companies. I always said yes and made sure to be willing to be flexible in order to get the best experience possible and see as many things as I could.

Design Engineering Intern
June - August 2020 • Auburn Hills, MI
What I liked
It was a really great atmosphere, everyone was so supportive and I got to work with a team of other interns. We were given a pretty open ended task, which at first was daunting, but after a while was really neat to take on the challenge with our own route we chose to take.
What I wish was different
I wanted to be in a different department—in the materials department, but due to COVID-19, it was completely online and I was placed into a design challenge instead. I still really enjoyed this experience but I was bummed I couldn’t see more of the product development aspect.
Advice
It’s super important to ask questions when you are unsure of things, and people really are happy to help. I always thought I would be a bother if I asked a lot of questions, but I found that people prefer you do ask questions rather than try and guess at something.

What I liked
FCA took steps to ensure everyone’s safety in the light of the global pandemic and provided me with a laptop and phone to work from home. The team I was placed in is full of wonderful people, and people all across the organization offer often reach out to offer their help if they think you need it.
What I wish was different
I only wish I had applied last year so I could have experienced working in-person with everyone!
Advice
Don’t be afraid to ask questions! It may seem daunting at first but it’s better to reach out for help than struggle alone.

Transmission & Driveline Quality
May - August 2019 • Toledo, OH
What I liked
Support from supervisors and colleagues. Able to see manufacturing processes first hand. Be able to share ideas on improvement and highlight quality issues. FCA also had a number of intern events such as test driving different cars, etc. There were also a lot of seminars related to stress management, engineering, etc. so there is a lot to learn.
What I wish was different
I wish I was at a location in Michigan closer to other interns. I also wish the housing accommodations were better. Lastly I wish my assignment was more hands on with cars rather than manufacturing of individual components.
Advice
Ask questions to HR and recruiters about the different opportunities you can have.
